A year in reflection

As we close off this year, we feel many incredible emotions, and on writing this piece, it brought to life all of the amazing things we have achieved in 2021 despite the hurdles that everyone faced.

We are in awe and grateful for the incredible community of women that surround us and are part of the Daughters of India family. The ones who have followed our journey, purchased consciously, read our journal features, shared photos in your beautiful dresses and sent us lovely testimonials. You are what makes this brand so special. We know this year has been tough and we all held each other up through it.

To add to this, we are honoured to have the most precious, amazing team who all contribute huge amounts to ensure the function, love and joy keeps rolling at Daughters of India HQ. We are lost for words when we start to think about where we begin giving thanks this year. Seriously, it makes out hearts burst. Our team constantly wow us with their superhuman capabilities and perfectly loving natures that keep all the cogs turning.

This year in reflection is momentous, take a look below at the achievements we are so proud to share with you all.

A year in reflection ~ 2021

We opened our flagship store in Tweed Heads

In true style, we hosted an amazing launch celebration. We made this an integral fundraiser event were we raised an overwhelming 7k to donate to Sewing the Seeds Organisation. There were so many beautiful people involved in making this event a showcase of everything we love at Daughters on India.

Giving special thanks to @theluxurytable_ for our amazing grazing table
@mr.consistent_, @ok.wines, @ventura_brewing, @redearthbrewers, @theclaybarn for our delicious cocktails & beverages @theflower.family for the beautiful blooms and garlands. Our event planner @brittovereem and @themirroredzebras for the wonderful music & vibes

We found innovative ways to support our artisans in India during Covid-19

Our team in India were able to hand block print with their families in their homes throughout Covid-19. Allowing them to continue working and supporting their entire family circle. This is a movement we were so proud of and it was a critical decision to ensure the financial security of our team of artisans in India.

Our sustainable and ethical approach grows

Our making facility has a wonderful sustainable movement which we are so proud of. They have saved 2,000,000 amount of litres of water. The facility is solar powered. They use plant based natural dyes. There is a mentor and counselling program that is always readily available to every team member where everyone has access to support, guidance and safety. They focus on equality with women, men and non-binary genders who are all welcome on the team.

Other amazing things that took place:

We extended our team members at Daughters of India HQ.
So much love from our worldwide followers as we reached over 100,000k followers on Instagram ~ the biggest thank you to you all.
Released many new designs and new colour ways in our dresses.
We hosted the most magic Christmas picnic gathering with our team members to close off 2021.

We are forever grateful for you all and we wish you a very exciting, happy and loving 2022. We can’t wait to see what the new year has in stall for us all.
